Meet our newest Spartans! 🎉

Four schools. Four mascots. Four new names. And more than 1,000 student ideas!

The wait is officially over! After weeks of brainstorming, reviewing suggestions and voting, we're excited to introduce the newest members of our Gates Chili mascot family!

⭐ Astro the Armstrong Star — Neil Armstrong Elementary School
🐻 Brave the Brasser Bear — Florence Brasser Elementary School
🐉 Dreamer the Disney Dragon — Walt Disney Elementary School
🐾 Pawley the Paul Road Panther — Paul Road Elementary School

Last spring, we introduced four new elementary mascots. This fall, we put their names in the hands of our students!

More than 1,000 name ideas were submitted across our elementary schools. Building and district leaders reviewed those suggestions and narrowed the choices to two finalists for each mascot. Last week, elementary students cast their votes to help choose their mascot's official name.

And today, the newest members of our Spartan family finally have names!

These mascots will help us celebrate school spirit, strengthen connections and reinforce the sense of belonging that makes Gates Chili special. Best of all, our students played an important role in shaping a piece of school history!

The celebration doesn't end here! Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 17, Astro, Brave, Dreamer and Pawley will join Spartacus for our Homecoming festivities. Keep an eye out throughout Homecoming for our exclusive GC Mascot trading cards — try and collect them all!

Help us give our newest Spartans a warm welcome! ❤️💙
